Overview

This policy explains how Setairo uses cookies and similar technologies (browser local storage) on this website, and how you can control them. The short version: browsing this site sets no cookies and no third-party trackers, and our page counts are cookieless — the detail below says exactly what is stored and why. It supplements our Privacy Policy, which covers personal data more broadly.

What are cookies

A cookie is a small text file a site stores on your device to make it work, remember your choices, or understand how it is used. Browser local storage serves the same purposes and is what this site actually uses, so we cover it here too. We use no tracking pixels.

Categories we use

Browsing this site places no cookie on your device. We set no advertising, marketing or cross-site tracking cookies of any kind, and we do not share data with an advertising network. Two things are stored, and they are the same two you see in the preferences panel.

• Essential.The display preferences you set — such as light/dark theme — and your analytics choice below, both kept in your browser’s local storage rather than in a cookie. Each is a setting you initiated, so it is strictly necessary and cannot be switched off. Separately, staff who sign in to the admin area receive a session cookie; that is the only cookie this property issues, and an ordinary visitor never gets one.
• Analytics. We count page views with self-hosted, cookieless analytics running on our own server — which pages are visited, in aggregate. It sets no cookie, assigns you no identifier, and cannot follow you to another site. Because it stores nothing on your device it does not require consent, so it is on by default and we disclose it here instead; you can object at any time in the preferences panel, which takes effect immediately.

Until August 13, 2026 this section also listed Functional and Marketingcategories, and offered a switch for each. Neither was ever wired to anything — no such cookie or script has been set at any point — so they were removed rather than left implying a choice that changed nothing.

First- and third-party cookies

First-party means set by this site directly; third-party means set by an outside provider, which is where most tracking on the web comes from. We use no third-party cookies at all.Our analytics is not a hosted service reporting to someone else’s domain — it runs on our own server, under our own control, and sends nothing to an advertising or data broker.

How long they last

Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser; persistent ones remain for a set period. Since browsing this site sets no cookie, neither applies to you as a visitor. What does persist is the local-storage settings named above — your theme and your analytics choice — which stay until you change them or clear your browser data. The admin session cookie is a session cookie and only exists for signed-in staff.

Managing your choices

Analytics is on by default and you can object at any time. This opens the preferences panel, where switching Analytics off takes effect immediately — the counter stops on the spot, with no reload and no further page views recorded:

Your choice is remembered on the device you make it on, so you will need to set it again on another browser or after clearing your browser data. You can also block or delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings; note that clearing local storage also clears your theme and analytics preferences, and that blocking the admin session cookie will stop the admin area from working for signed-in staff.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice.
